Derrick Scott, The University of Texas at Austin
Leading the Clutchtime Sports coaching team is Derrick Scott, former Longhorn and current strength and conditioning assistant coach for The University of Texas football program under Jeff “Maddog” Madden. Scott, a four year letterman, played tight end for the Longhorns from 1995 to 1998. During that time, Scott’s teams are credited with winning the final Southwest Conference Championship in 1995 with a 16-6 victory at Texas A&M, ending the Aggie’s nation leading 31-game home win streak, and the inaugural Big 12 Championship in 1996 with a stunning 37-27 upset over #3 Nebraska. Scott returned to UT in 2005 to work with the football program as an assistant strength and conditioning coach and saw that team win the 2005 National Championship behind the speed and strength of Vince Young and company.

Kwame Cavil, St. Michael’s Catholic Academy
Kwame Cavil, St. Michael’s Catholic Academy
Kwame Cavil, former Longhorn wide receiver and current assistant football coach for the St. Michael’s Catholic Academy Crusaders, will assist with the Clutchtime Sports coaching needs. Cavil played for the Longhorns from 1997 to 1999 before heading to the NFL to play for the Buffalo Bills in 2000. Originally recruited to Texas as an outside linebacker, Cavil was switched to the offense during his first summer practice. At wide receiver, Cavil set university and Big 12 Conference single-season records for receptions (100) and receiving yards (1,188) earning second-team All-American and All-Big 12 honors in 1999. After a short stint in the NFL, Cavil headed to the Canadian Football League (CFL) where he played in three Grey Cup Championships, the championship of the CFL, winning two rings.
